 My printer will not go beyond this step in the loading sequence. I have tried the solutions suggested on the community forum (unplugging, removing ink, etc.) I have no way to connect so I cannot see if the software is up to date. Any help on how to reset my printer would be appreciated.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Hello-I am also having this same problem with my HP Envy Photo 7858 and have tried to reset suggested in this post with no luck.

Good luck @Zeebo989. We ended up buying a new printer since they couldn't fix this issue. It seems like this issue has been common with this model.
