Well I reset the browser and the HP3830 is the only printer in the Print_printers section. still no luck. tried goin to programs and did a repair ,which worked in when this first happened but also did not fix the problem now. still get "print preview error" and error occured while printing? the only thing that works is printing in windows mail program? if I try to print a PDF file It said I have to install a printer?? have no idea whats going on. my next thing is to uninstall the printer and all the other programs that installed with it and go from scratch. Hi @DiggerJ72,
Thanks for getting back to us. I really appreciate your effort in trying to resolve the issue. Don't worry I still have few things which should resolve the issue.
Let's try to uninstall the printer driver and then install the full feature software and check if it works.

well, I uninstalled everything HP through programs, and even reset my browser before going to software link, however the link was for HP6830 series and I have 3830 series. so I reinstalled the 3830 softweare OJ3830_72. your link was for OJ6830_73. anyway still got the same result. tried to print you email and got the same errors. forwarded you email to my windows mail and it printed right out and all print features popped up and worked . ?????? printer works like a charm until you go into a browser and try to print ? still wondering. everything worked fine when I first got this printer, then after 2-3 weeks I got the errors, I was able to fix with repair in program&features but it happened again on two more occasions then now where I can't fix it anymore . You didn't want me to use the OJ6830_73 software did you??

Hi @DiggerJ72,
Thanks for your response.
I'm glad that you pointed that out as I seem to have pasted the wrong product.
Answering to your question, I would suggest you go ahead and install the printer software for your printer which is HP3830.
Did you try different browsers?
If the issue persists, I would suggest you contact our HP phone support, so that they can take the control of your PC and remotely they can check the settings. Please fill in the product details to get the tech support number.
What you can do, is use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
Step 1. Open link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get phone number
Case number and phone number appear.
Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again

OK I will try your recommendations. I did use my 3830 software and no change, the problem presists in all three browers I use ,IE9,Avast safe zone also. I'm thinking a windows setting somewhere is to blame? thinking of trying one last thing before calling. maybe a SFCscan?

Hey, I think I missed this, or got it mixed up with some other instructions I was looking at. I followed your instructions just now and the printer seems to be working for now. Thank you. I should mention though I have got it to work previously, but after it sits a few days without being used, the problem reappears. We will see if perhaps your solution has taken care of that.
