Enhancements and fixes

This release provides many quality-focused enhancements and fixes to resolve customer issues. Notable resolved issues include:

  • The system shows a black screen for self-view and for far-end participants on a Poly Studio X52 video bar in a Pexip call (PVENG-29306)

  • PTZ controls and presets in manual mode don't work after switching from multi-stream mode on a Poly G7500 system or Poly Studio X70 video bar with a USB-connected Poly Studio E70 camera (PVENG-28845)

  • Disconnecting the USB-A cable causes the system to restart and sometimes lose network connection on a Poly Studio X52 video bar in Teams mode with a connected USB-extender (PVENG-27738)

  • Touch controller menus display a mix of English and Japanese on a Poly Studio X video bar with a connected Poly touch controller (PVENG-28462)

Migrating HP Poly Android Microsoft Teams Rooms devices to AOSP

 

This guide will detail how administrators can convert existing HP Poly Android MTR endpoints to support Intune Android Open Source Project (AOSP) device management platform. Microsoft is deprecating Android Device Administrator, which uses Company Portal (CP), in favor of AOSP device management.

For more details, see Moving Teams Android Devices to AOSP Device Management on the Microsoft website.

HP Poly has created a mechanism that allows the migration of systems, either individually through the device WebUI or in bulk through Poly Lens management. This mechanism only applies to HP Poly Android Teams Rooms. HP Poly Teams panels will be migrated to AOSP automatically with a firmware update without any administrative intervention required.

Device support and firmware details

Microsoft Teams Rooms on Poly Studio X30 Poly Studio X50, Poly Studio X70, Poly Studio X32, Poly Studio X52, Poly Studio X72, Poly Studio G62, and Poly G7500 systems

Teams controller models: Poly TC8 and Poly TC10

Firmware version support:

    • Company Portal (CP) enrollment support will end in a future Poly OS release.

    • Your system must be on Poly VideoOS 4.5.0 to migrate to AOSP.

Steps to migrate from Company Portal to AOSP

  1. Ensure Intune is setup to accept enrollment of AOSP devices. Follow the instructions in the Migrating Teams Android Devices to AOSP Device Management from Device Administrator guide.

    1. HP Poly does not currently support any device configuration profiles.

    2. HP Poly does support device compliance policies similar to existing CP enrollment

      1. Minimum/maximum OS Version

      2. Rooted device check

      3. Require encryption of data storage on device

  2. Once AOSP device management is enabled and configured in Intune, update to Poly VideoOS 4.5.0 through either Microsoft Teams Admin Center or Poly Lens.

  3. Once the firmware update is complete, enable AOSP Authentication from the system web interface.

    1. Access the system web interface and log in with admin credentials.

    2. Select General Setting > Provider.

    3. Select the Enable AOSP Authentication checkbox and select Save.

    4. On the System Restart dialogue box select Restart.

    5. The system monitor displays “Switching Teams Authentication” and then reboots.

    6. Paired Poly TC8 or Poly TC10 controllers will disconnect, reconnect, display “Switching Teams Authentication”, check for new software, and then launch the Teams app.

  4. New entries will appear in Intune Admin Portal.

    1. Log in to intune.microsoft.com with the proper credentials for your tenant

    2. Select Device > Android > Android Devices

    3. Search for the name of the device that was converted and confirm it has AOSP Enrollment.

  5. On the system or touch controller go to More Settings > Device Settings > About. Make sure the updated components match the following.

    Firmware Version: 4.5.0-432282

    Partner App Verison: 7.0.0-SNAPSHOT

    Authenticator Version: 6.2410.7268

    Microsoft Intune Version: 24.09.1

    Teams Version: 1449/1.0.96.2025031102

    Admin Agent Version: 1.0.0.202412110504.product

Live IP microphone switching on Poly Studio X72

 

You can enable automatic Poly IP table or ceiling microphone switching on the Poly Studio X72 video bar.

You can configure your system to automatically switch between the in-built microphone and any Poly IP table or ceiling microphones. The system automatically uses the microphone closest to the person speaking. In the system web interface, go to Audio > General Audio Settings > select Enable Auto Mic Switching.


Enable motion sensor detection on Poly TC10 for Zoom Rooms

 

A Poly TC10 device configured as a Zoom Rooms Controller in either standalone mode or paired with a Poly video system now supports motion (proximity) sensors.

To activate motion detection on a Poly TC10 device, enable it on the Zoom Rooms web portal and set a device operation time. The device operation time specifies the daily schedule of active and idle hours of the Poly TC10 device. The Poly TC10 device dims during times when the Zoom Room is not in use.

Note:

The motion detection range is approximately up to 1.5 m (5 ft) maximum from the Poly TC10 device.

Procedure

  1. In the Zoom Rooms web portal, go to Rooms Management > Zoom Rooms.
  2. Do one of the following:

    • To set all rooms on the account, go to Account Profile > Setup > Device Operation Time.

    • To set a specific room on the account, go to Room Profile > Setup > Device Operation Time.

Enable the following:

  • Device Operation Time

  • Exit device operation time when motion is detected in the room by Zoom Room device equipped with a motion detection sensor

  • Display room occupancy status

When a Poly TC10 room controller detects motion, the Poly TC10 display wakes up and goes from dim to normal brightness, and the room display monitor wakes up.

 

Connect three IP cameras in Microsoft Teams

 

You can now connect up to three IP cameras in Microsoft Teams running Poly VideoOS 4.5.0.

You can IP connect three Poly Studio E60 or Poly Studio E70 cameras plus three Poly IP microphones on a Poly Studio G62 system.

You can IP connect two Poly Studio E60 or Poly Studio E70 cameras plus three Poly IP microphones or a single RealPresence Debut expansion microphone on a Poly Studio X72 video bar.

Poly Studio G62 includes one unpowered LLN port that requires a Netgear Pro AV GSM4210PD switch to connect IP devices.

Note: Poly systems don't support mixing USB and IP cameras.
 

Provision the administrator password in Poly Lens for a standalone Poly TC10

If you provision your Poly TC10 in standalone mode in Poly Lens, you can update the administrator password in Poly Lens.

Note the following:

  • The Poly touch controller administrator login credentials are stored in an encrypted manner in Poly Lens. They’re never logged in plain text in Poly Lens.

  • The login credentials are transmitted to the device over an encrypted TLS connection.

Once you provision a standalone device's administrator password in Poly Lens, the Change Password button under Credentials in the web interface is disabled, and users are not prompted to change their password in the future.

Procedure

  1. In Poly Lens, go to Device Inventory and select your device.
  2. Go to Settings > Security > Local Accounts.

Enter the new room password and select Apply. A message displays confirming that the change was successful.

Improved network switch configuration when connecting modular room peripherals to the Poly Studio G62 LLN port

 

Configure your network switch to ensure a stable experience with Poly modular room peripherals.

Make sure you have the following equipment:

  • Laptop with an Ethernet port

  • Ethernet patch cable

  • Netgear ProAV M4250-9G1F-PoE+ (GSM4210PD) network switch

Note:

This release doesn't support automatic network switch configuration.

Note:

Connect all your peripherals to the system before you configure the switch.

Note:

Ensure that your network switch is updated to firmware version 13.0.5.10. For information on updating your Netgear switch and Ethernet settings, see here Netgear Support.

Procedure

  1. Turn on the network switch and connect the Ethernet patch cable to your laptop and the port labeled OOB on the back of the switch.
  2. Log in to the administrator page of your network switch, go to Configure and select Poly StudioNet Modular Room Switch.
  3. Select the ports you wish to apply the profile to and select Tag all > Apply.
  4. Once complete, you can close the web browser and disconnect the Ethernet cable connected to your computer and the switch.

Poly Labs features people on monitors and stationary people promoted

Poly Labs is a collaborative program to deliver pre-released features and experiences to customers.

This following Poly Labs features are fully promoted and enabled in Poly VideoOS 4.5.0:

  • People on monitor filter - Refines Poly DirectorAI smart camera technology by excluding participants displayed on monitors during multi-camera or multi-display setups.

  • Stationary people filter - Refines Poly DirectorAI smart camera technology by excluding stationary objects from framing, focusing solely on active participants.

More A/V controls partners on Poly TC10 and Poly TC8 touch controllers

 

You can enable control of both call and A/V controls, such as lighting, blinds, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems on Poly TC10 and Poly TC8 touch controllers.

Poly supports Crestron and QSC Q-sys in addition to Extron and Lightware as compatible vendors with a mechanism to bypass authentication. Other vendors are operable and might require an authentication step on the touch controller.

Updating your system

 

All Poly G7500, Poly Studio G62, and Poly Studio X systems support Poly VideoOS 4.5.0.

Poly recommends that you configure your device to automatically restart on a weekly or daily basis. This feature can help systems run optimally and efficiently to reduce crashes that some configurations have experienced in the past. Configure this feature in the system web interface under General Settings > System Settings > Enable Scheduled Auto Restart.

Updating Poly G7500, Poly Studio G62, or Poly Studio X

 

Update your Poly G7500, Poly Studio G62 or Poly Studio X Series system to the latest release.

Note the following before you update:

  • Poly Studio X32 initially ships with Poly VideoOS 4.2.6 software, which you can’t downgrade to a previous release.

  • Poly Studio G62 initially ships with Poly VideoOS 4.1.5. Poly strongly encourages you to update your system as part of the out-of-box setup process.

  • Poly Studio X52 initially ships with Poly VideoOS 4.1.0 software, which you can’t downgrade to a previous release.

  • Poly Studio X72 initially ships with Poly VideoOS 4.2.5 software, which you can’t downgrade to a previous release.

  • You can downgrade your Poly G7500 or Poly Studio X Series systems (except Poly Studio X32, Poly Studio X52, and Poly Studio X72) to previous Poly VideoOS 4.x versions.

  • Downgrading from Poly VideoOS 4.x to Poly VideoOS 3.x versions isn’t supported.

  • Your system must be running Poly VideoOS 3.14.1 or later before updating. If your system is running software earlier than Poly VideoOS 3.14.1, you must first update your system to Poly VideoOS 3.14.1 or later. Updating to this release without first upgrading to 3.14.1 or later isn’t supported, as it’s an untested upgrade path that may result in your system not functioning correctly.

Updating Poly TC10 or Poly TC8 touch controllers

 

Update your Poly TC10 or Poly TC8 touch controller to the latest release.

You have multiple options for updating your system. For more information, review the Poly Video Mode Administrator Guide or the Poly Partner Mode Administrator Guide.

Note the following before you update:

  • Updating your Poly TC10 or Poly TC8 touch controller to Poly TCOS 4.1.0 or later includes a major platform upgrade to Android 11. Once updated, you can’t downgrade the touch controller.

  • Update your Poly TC10 or Poly TC8 touch controller to the latest software (if prompted) during the out-of-box experience to avoid sync issues when pairing with a Poly G7500, Poly Studio G62, or Poly Studio X Series system.
