Phones using the Broadworks Premium Call Center feature can now play audio reminders when a call is waiting in the queue.
Applies to:

Poly CCX Series
Silent distress calls
This release implements a silent distress call feature.
Known as a silent alarm or panic button, distress calls provide emergency responders with important information until you're safe to speak. Schools and academic institutions may use the distress call feature to aid in compliance with US legislation under Alyssa's Law.
Applies to:
-
Poly CCX Series
-
Poly Trio Series
- Poly Edge E Series
A distress call must be configured first as an emergency number. By default, 911 is pre-configured in slot 1
dialplan.routing.emergency.2.value="123456789"
An emergency number can then be marked as a distress number
dialplan.routing.emergency.2.distress.value="1"
When this is done, all methods of calling this number will trigger distress behaviors. for this reason, it is NOT recommended to configure 911, 999, or other regional emergency numbers with distress.value="1" since in an emergency, a user who dials 911 may not be expecting the call to behave differently than a typical call.
911 or equivalent can still be setup as a speed dial so that it can be used as a specialized distress call without also impacting users who dial 911 from the dial pad.
Distress calls start as 1-way calls
They transmit only and NoiseBlockAI is disabled so the far-end can hear all noise, speech or otherwise, that is in the room.
- A softkey (on Edge E) or a button in the hamburger menu (on CCX or C60) allows the user to switch to a 2-way conversation.
- Lifting the handset will also automatically switch to a 2 way conversation.
Text to Speech (Edge E only)
A repeating message can be configured so the call will automatically provide information to a first responder even if you are unable to use the phone.
Using periods or commas can be helpful in manipulating the TTS engine for clarity
dialplan.routing.emergency.2.distress.ttsMessage="Silent Alarm. Silent Alarm. Room 316. Building A."
dialplan.routing.emergency.2.distress.ttsRepeatCount=“3" (-1 means repeat until 2-way talk is started)
dialplan.routing.emergency.2.distress.ttsRepeatDelay="3“ (in seconds)
For any number that is already configured as an emergency number, it can also be marked as a Distress call in the contact directory.
Limitation: The contact # of a contact entry does not perform automatic validation of numbers so it will not recognize a distress # match unless you save and reopen the contact
When adding contacts directly to the phone's XML contact file, distress calling is added using the <di> element
<item><fn>911 Silent Alarm</fn>
<ln></ln>
<ct>911</ct>
<sd>5</sd>
<di>1</di>
</item>
Emergency numbers configured with dialplan.routing.emergency.2.distress.value="1" will be locked as enabled if added as a contact
Distress numbers apply unique behaviors when dialed, invoked from a speed dial or a custom soft key:
- Start as 1-way transmit only calls unless the handset is off hook. The handsfree microphone is activated to transmit audio from in the room to the far end while received audio is blocked. Lifting the handset will automatically switch to 2-way audio.
- A limited call UI where LEDs and active call screens are suppressed which hides the fact a distress call is active. The Edge E series call control softkeys are reduced to only an End Call and 2-way audio toggle. Typical keys for actions like conference, hold, and transfer that can interrupt the call are removed. On the CCX series and Trio C60, call control buttons to end or switch to 2-way audio are relocated to the main menu .
- A distress call will temporarily disable advanced audio treatments like Poly NoiseblockAI so that all in-room sound is sent to the far end unfiltered.
- Active or hold calls will be ended when a distress call is triggered .
- Inbound calls are permitted while a distress call is active and can be answered, rejected or forwarded as normal using the typical call appearance UI. On handling or ending the inbound call, the distress call will be immediately resumed .
- An optional text to speech (TTS) message is available on the Edge E series which can be configured to repeat a set number of times or indefinitely after a call connects. Switching to 2-way audio will stop the TTS message.
- Accidental dial protection for speed dials can delay the call start with visible options to cancel it during the delay period or by requiring the press and hold of the speed dial button before the distress call is triggered.
- Accidental dial protection for custom softkeys or EFKs can offer a delayed call trigger but the press and hold method is not available. You must use a speed dial for that method.
Alternate telemetry server
When you enable device analytics, you can stream telemetry data collected by Poly Lens to a second location such as Poly Clariti Manager or an alternate HTTPS device telemetry reporting service.
Applies to:
-
Poly CCX Series

Replacing standard function keys with custom softkeys
You can now remove the Answer, Ignore, and Lines keys during configuration and create up to 50 custom softkeys for use in various call and menu states. Configure the softkey layout to optimize workflows, reduce unnecessary key presses, and hide keys that you don't use.
Applies to:
-
Poly CCX Series
-
Poly Trio Series
- Poly Edge E
So many actions, so few buttons…
Customizing your softkeys can ensure that the actions you take most often are available without scrolling through rows of softkeys using the More button. Other times, it’s important that staff do not have the option to reject, or ignore an inbound call.
A few more default softkeys can now be removed to help streamline the UI.

- Ignore

Screen Capture Enhancements
Screen capture settings have all moved to one page
Display Type = Phone: Use Display Number 2 to capture the secondary screen on the Edge E 400/450
Display Type = Expansion Module: Use Display Number to choose between Ems and Page number to pick from pages 1-3
This diagnostics tool is now also available on CCX and Trio C60 from the Web UI
Dynamic IP Change
In all previous PVOS and UC Software versions, a change to the IP address required a reboot. At long last, we have enhanced our software to make these change dynamic and immediate.
There are no configuration settings, no management screens, no action is required.
What we get:
- Switch between Wi-Fi and ethernet without a restart.
- Always online when IP address leases expire or DHCP services lose their records
- VLAN hopping during 802.1x or LLDP capable network deployment is smoother and faster as the phone repeats DORA sequences across multiple VLANS
50 Custom Softkeys
Now that you can remove more default soft keys… What will you do with all that extra space?
We've increased the max number of custom line keys to 50 (previously 10). This gives customers even more flexibility to create custom soft keys and insert them in the desired order for each call state.
Sample Use Case: I have 3 rows of softkeys when a call is active but I want the End Call softkey to always be available on every row in the same place.
Solution -> create the same soft key multiple times. You can create as many as needed even inserting them in different positions in different call states.
There remains a limit of 6 rows of softkeys in any given call state, and the More key takes a position, which means, in any given call state, you can add up to 3 x 6 = 18 custom softkeys
softkey.50.label="Maximum Effort"softkey.50.action="1800DEADPOOL$Tinvite$"
softkey.50.use.dialtone="1"
softkey.50.enable="1"
Edge E Support Menu: QR code
The Edge E series launched with a series of video shorts accessed by QR code in the main menu's help section.
The destination for that QR code is configurable, so service providers can use it to direct to a location of their choosing
New: ui.menu.helpAndSupport.contact.help.QrCode_URL="https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/details/edge-e100-series/2101722133"

Agree or withdraw consent for Poly Lens data collection
Providing data to HP Poly is optional. You can now add or withdraw consent for device data to be collected by Poly Lens.
Administrators and organizations can manage consent using configuration settings so that the menu is read-only and onscreen prompts to provide or withdraw consent aren’t available. When consent decisions aren’t managed via configuration, the device prompts you for a decision on data collection during the initial out-of-the-box setup or after updating to software that supports the new data collection menu.
Your device information enables HP Poly to provide alerts, timely firmware and software updates, and warranty support. Review the full data collection policy and usage information, along with your privacy choices, at https://info.lens.poly.com/docs/lens-data-collection-and-usage-notice.

- Menu > Settings > Basic > Poly Lens Data Collection
This menu will provide the QR code, buttons to add or remove consent, as well as display when and where the consent action was taken (Settings, Configuration, Out of Box)
A service provider may require, as part of their terms and conditions, that the phones always send telemetry to Poly Lens and are provided a means to disable end-user change of their consent state from this menu
da.optIn.menu.enabled="1"
Default: 1Set to 0 to disable the option to change the consent state from the main menu

Retirement of Poly CCX Microsoft USB Phone base profile
Poly announces the retirement of the Microsoft Teams USB Phone base profile for Poly CCX Series phones as of the PVOS 9.3.0 release.
Poly CCX phones have provided a Microsoft Teams USB Phone base profile that offered limited telephony companion services to a PC's Teams application. After experimentation with this operating mode, Poly has decided to discontinue its support due to limited demand, usage feedback, and ongoing support challenges.
Poly CCX phones continue to offer the full native Microsoft Teams application experience and full support of the Teams app. You may continue to use the phone as a microphone and speaker through a USB cable when in the native Teams app, but advanced call controls aren’t available.
Users of the USB Phone base profile may remain on PVOS 9.2.0 or earlier to continue to use the USB Phone profile, however Poly has no plans to obtain Microsoft USB Peripheral certification for Poly CCX Series phones.
